I was fortunate enough to have work included in Post-Industrial Complex, a companion catalog exhibition to MoCAD’s companion exhibition ‘Post-Industrial Complex’, co-curated by Katie Grace McGowan and Jon Brumit in summer 2012. The project explores the ingenuity and adaptivity of human-scale production in this struggling metropolis, aiming to disrupt the notion that only one narrative of the city exists and provide insight into everyday creativity. All of the submissions received in response to a call for entries are published in this book, reflecting the diverse ways in which people understood the core idea. From handicraft, jewellery and design objects to fashion, film, performance and music, the range of resourcefulness is astounding.
