Greater Columbus Arts Council Grant
August 20, 2018AITC Resource Grant Award
I was fortunate enough to be awarded an AITC (Artists in the Community) Grant, designed to recognize the important contribution of artists to the creative landscape and economic vitality of the Columbus community. The AITC Resource Grant is intended to assist professional artists create new art by offsetting the cost of supplies, materials and resources. This $500 grant covered supplies for the creation of a new body of work entitled “Portraits of Home” and the creation and framing of two new pieces from “Homesickness Series” both of which are currently on display in “Twofold: Impermanent Histories” at Marshall University’s Birke Art Gallery.
I’d like to thank the Mayor of Columbus, Andrew Ginther, the Ohio Arts Council and the Columbus City Council for their support of the GCAC, an invaluable resource to community artists like myself.
