Workshop: Family Day at MoCAD
December 15, 2013Workshop: Festive Fibers with Whitney Sage
Sunday, December 15th, 2013
Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MoCAD)
4454 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48201
It’s “Family Day” at one of the least-family-oriented museums in the city — MOCAD — which is home to some of today’s most avant-garde pop art. “Festive Fibers with Whitney Sage,” which kinda rolls off the tongue nicely, is a holiday workshop where you elves of all ages can get schooled in the fine art of craft-chic, “… constructing works that go beyond simple craft.” Who knows, could be trippy; and it’s free! mocadetroit.org
Family Days are free creative and education-based days that focus on themes related to MOCAD exhibitions. These family centered events give children and their adults a chance to celebrate the meaning of being a family and spend quality time with their loved ones. By participating in fun activities together at MOCAD, Family Day provides bonding moments with family connection. These activities reinforce contributions to the world by fostering a strong sense of well being, and help to create communities where families are the core and fundamental pillars of society.
